Chapter 1

Plot: The plot is about that Keku'iapoiwa was having a baby but she was on a canoe and she gave birth so the father is rather be keōua or Alapa'i the king of Hawai'i. When Keku'iapoiwa gave birth she told Nae'ole to go take the baby before Alapa'i found him and killed him. The baby was going to be the king and overrule all the kings so now Alapa'i want's to kill him so that he wont overrule him. so Nae'ole ran and hide with the baby.


Other: I learned that when a man dosent know about a baby born then they want to kill it because they dont want them to over rule.

Plot: This chapter is about Nae'ole taking the baby to a women that was the babys cousin. The lady took the baby and hide the baby because they might have been followed. When the babay was growing up Nae'ole was their to show him to take care of the island and when he became king he would have to know about the land. The boy made a promise to Nae'ole that he will have a cloak- of mamo feathers.


Other: I learned that when you are a little boy you have to learn as much to become a king nd so that you know about the island that you are rulling over.

Chapter 3

Plot:Pai'ea was Kamehameha's first name. After when Pai'ea was about 5 Nae'ole told him that he talked to Pai'eas mother and she said that he could come home. But Pai'ea didn't want to go home the forest was his home. But when he went home his mother gave him a new name and it was Kamehameha it means "Lonely one" or " The who has been set apart." Kamehameha could not eat fish until he was older. Then Kamehameha had to go liv with his uncle Kalani`ōpu'u so that he can learn all about the Ali'i world and how to be an Ali'i and the Ali'is roles and expectations.so now that Kalani`ōpu'u is now king so Kamehameha is the nephew of an Ali'i.

Other: I learned that when you are an Ali'i you have to act like an Ali'i.

Plot: Chapter 4 was about Kamehameha moving the Naha stone. Many Ali'isn have tried but never succeeded. Kamehameha watched many people try to move it but they could not do it. Then it was Kamehamehas turn he pushed it and he moved it a little bit then he tried to do it again and he made it roll. Everyone new he was going to be king someday.

Other: I learned that is you try you might succeed but if you dont try then you wont get anywhere.

Chapter 5

Warding:In powwow magic , warding is the term used for protective magic. Warding is used against the evil eye, slander, bad luck, barrenness and sterility.

Mercilessly:without pity; in a merciless manner; "he was mercilessly trounced by his opponent in the House"

Plot: Chapter 5 is about Kamehameha going to battle Kahekili's warriors and lost many men in the fight. Kamehameha could not find his freind named kekūhaupi'o he found him trapped in sweet potato vines and tring to fight off the enemys so Kamehameha went and saved him and they set off to Hawai'i.

Other: I learned that if a friend is in need of help then you should be a nice friend and help them out.

Plot: Chapter 6 was about Kamehameha coming home and seeing Caption Cook went to kealakekua bay and Kamehameha went to meet the Caption. Then Caption Cook set off to go to war but they came back to take Kalani`Ōpu'u because someone took their boat. So all the Hawaiians went to kill the british people and killed Caption Cook and Kamehameha was so mad at them that they killed the man that had a cool ship and a lot of weapon's and he was goingto ask them if he can have some of their weapon's.


Other: I learned that you cant think that staingers are good to meet.

Chapter 7

Plot: Chapter 7 is about Kamehameha meeting Ka'ahumanu. Ka'ahumanu is the daughter of Ke'eaumanu would be the wife of asking Ke'eaumanu and he said that Kamehameha could marry her because she is a pritty and wonderful women.

Other: I learned that when you want to marry someone then you have to get permission.

Plot: This chapter is about Kamehameha going to battle with the god of Maui. Then Kamehameha had to make a new Heiau to gain Kūkā'ilimoku's support. So Kamehameha told Keōua to come and see his new Heiau. So Keōua came and ke'ehumanu killed him and offered it to the Heiau.

Other: I learned that you cant trust your cousin because they might turn their back on you and try to take over the islands.

Plot: This chapter is about how Kamehameha and George vancouver became friends and that Ka'ahumanu and Kamehameha broke up and Vancouver was mad tht they broke up so Vancouver brought Ka'ahumnu to come to his boat but then Kamehameha came before her and she saw him and ran into his arms and Kamehameha thanked him and they were back together.


Other: I learned that George Vancouver is a good friend so that he can bring peace to the island of Hawai'i.

Other: I learned that Kamehameha was a strong and brave man.

Plot: This chapter is about Kamehameha wanting to conquer Kaua'i and Lana'i so that he can have all the Islands to himself. But when he was going to Kaua'i a big trade wind came and Kamehameha was forced back. When he tried again he had a very bad disease. So then he went to Oahu and he got very sick then he didn't want to go there ever again.

Plot: This chapter is about Kamehameha telling kaumuali'i that he could still rule Kaua'i but he had to pay Kamehameha daily taxes so Kaumuali'i agreed but Kamehameha wanted him to meet face to face so Kaumuali'i came and was going to eat but then Isaac Davis told him and he went back to Kaua'i and kaumuali'i went and was safe.

Plot: This chapter was about Kamehameha having a horse and became a horseman. So he went to Waikiki where he would always go surfing and the children were following him. So Kamehameha went back to gather all of his people and his family on to a ship so that they can go back to Kailua- Kona Hawai'i.

Other: I learned that Kamehameha was a fast learner and that he never gave up hope.

A trusted chief hid the bones to keep Kamehameha's mana and to keep him safe. and the man that hid his bones said " Only the stars know where the bones of the Grate Kamehameha is."

Other: I learned that Kamehameha was a strong warrior and a dedicated the Hawaiian island under rule.
